Well would you look at that. Yet another year has come and gone and Glasgow Food Geek is celebrating its 2nd Birthday today – Woop! Woop!
2 years ago I never really imagined that a random thought to start a blog would lead to all the cool exciting things that I have gotten to do in the last few years.
The weird thing is that before I started the Glasgow Food Geek I hadn’t even read a blog before. I knew nothing about the blogging world and I certainly knew nothing about reviewing food. I always had an eagerness to write and just thought food would be a fun thing to talk about since I loved to eat out in Glasgow.
Without getting too gushy, I have got to tell you it is one of the best things I have ever done. The Glasgow blogging community is so much fun – I am now lucky enough to count so many bloggers (and Yelpers) amongst some of my best friends and frankly the loveliest funniest human beings I know.
To celebrate another amazing year in the Glasgow food scene I have picked my ‘Best of the Year’ Geekie Award winners of 2015. It was so hard to come up with just one winner in each category, but as far as I am concerned these are the places that I have loved most this year.
It’s been an awesome year and I have totally loved sharing it with you lovely readers and my freakishly awesome twitter followers.
Looking forward to year 3 with you all!!!!
Happy Birthday my lovely Geek!! Some great shouts here. Looking forward to keeping up to date with your 15/16 reviews and tips! See you soon xx
Thanks pretty Dragonfly! It was so hard narrowing it down to just a few places but I love the list. Definitely catch up soon xxxx
Totally agree with Gesso in the Coffee Shop category. It’s only been around a few months but it’s certainly made an impression. I love how there’s separate seating and lighting areas depending on whether you want to lounge or work, and of course the coffee is magnficent. It’s the only place that comes close to the kissaten I used to frequent in Japan.
Can we organize a catch up soon? Try some of the healthier? glasgow joints? xxxx
Yes I love this lets definitely do that. How about sushi at Nanakusa? I’ve been meaning to go back there for AGES lol
